Phil Williams is a highly sought after freelance bass player, writer and teacher. He has played and toured with many well known bands and artists including Gary Barlow, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Kim Wilde, Paul Young, Curtis Stigers, Los Del Rio, Walk On Fire (MCA), Vonda Shephard, Rick Wakeman, Limahl, Kry (Columbia/Epic) and The Jordianaires (Nashville artists) to name just a few. His skillful playing can be heard on numerous film and TV soundtracks for companies such as the BBC, Carlton and LWT and on the feature film Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis released by Goldcrest Films. He's also a regular contributor to Rhythm magazine.
He is currently a clinician and endorsee for Yamaha. His equipment includes 4-, 5- and 6-string bass guitars and a Hartke Systems bass rig. Musical styles include funk, rock and pop. Phil is a diverse player and a fluent reader who is also happy to play by ear and he has worked extensively in recording studios in the UK and abroad.
